DGKFO Stuttgart 2023
From September 28th to 30th, 2023, the DGKFO Congress took place in Stuttgart. After enjoying breakfast together as a team, seven of us headed to Stuttgart.
The DGKFO Congress is Germany's leading event for the latest research and developments in orthodontics.
In addition to numerous scientific lectures by dental universities from German-speaking countries, the congress also features a poster exhibition presenting current doctoral theses and research projects.
This year, Katharina Grosch, a dental student at the University Hospital Bonn, conducted a joint research project with our specialist orthodontic practice, My Sunny Smile. The project was published in one of the most prestigious scientific journals in orthodontics and presented as part of the poster exhibition.
Alongside the three-day congress, a trade fair and manufacturers' exhibition took place, where specialist suppliers and manufacturers showcased their latest products and innovations. Of course, digitalization continues to play an increasingly important role in orthodontics.
What impressed us the most was the digital monitoring system called Dental Monitoring (DM). To stay at the forefront of modern orthodontics, we decided to introduce this system into our practice starting the following week.
Dental Monitoring is an innovative tool that uses a mobile app to transmit weekly updates on tooth movement during orthodontic treatment with braces or aligners directly to our practice.
We will share more details in the coming weeks, once the onboarding process is complete and the system has been integrated into our daily practice routine.
