Fixed
Braces
Fixed braces are the treatment of choice for aligning and positioning permanent teeth. They allow for the creation of space without the need for tooth extractions and can also be used to close gaps, for example. In many cases, brackets are placed on both the upper and lower teeth—not only to move individual teeth but also to influence the shape of the jaws. To ensure proper alignment between the upper and lower jaws, additional aids such as elastic bands are often required.
With fixed braces, it is particularly important to move the teeth slowly and with minimal force. This approach not only enhances patient comfort but also protects the surrounding tissues, helping to achieve long-term stability in both tooth and bite alignment.
There are significant differences between standard materials provided by statutory health insurance and modern, high-quality bracket systems. The latter offer greater comfort, precision, and often improved aesthetic results.
